Ice Cream Social and Q&A Invitation

Nurture Kitsap Homeschool Community (NKHC) is thrilled to invite homeschool students and families in our community to an Ice Cream Social and Q&A event! This gathering is a fantastic opportunity to ask questions, meet other families, and experience our welcoming community firsthand. We’ll discuss our new location in Bremerton, this year's exciting class opportunities, and introduce our new Thrive program for middle and high school students. Our enrichment-focused programs cover grades K-12, and younger siblings are always welcome. Both programs will be held on the same day and in the same facility, but on separate floors, allowing our kids and teens to have their own spaces to thrive.

About Nurture Kitsap Homeschool Community

NKHC is a warm and inclusive community offering academic enrichment and social support to homeschooling families in Kitsap County. As a non-sectarian group, we welcome members from all backgrounds without endorsing any political, religious, or homeschool philosophies. Our diverse membership represents the full spectrum of homeschooling practices, creating an environment where all families can comfortably share their unique ideas, beliefs, traditions, interests, and talents.

Over the past ten years, NKHC has grown and evolved. Our Nurture program for K-6th graders is well-established, featuring classes like Dinosaurs Rock! Paleontology & Geology, Medieval History, and Astronomy. With an increasing number of high schoolers, we developed our new Thrive program to support students in grades 7-12. Understanding that older students have different needs and interests, the Thrive program offers academic, enrichment, and social classes such as US Government & Comparative Federalism, Photography, and D&D.

Ice Cream Social Dates

We are hosting three Ice Cream Socials, each focusing on a different age group. If your family spans multiple age groups, please attend the session most relevant to your questions. We will address additional queries or questions for other age groups after the main Q&A session. If you can only attend a session not tailored to your child’s age, that is perfectly fine! We will still address your questions.

  • July 23rd in Bremerton: Focus on the Nurture program for K-6th graders and their younger siblings.
  • July 30th in Silverdale: Focus on the Thrive program for 7th and 8th graders.
  • August 13th in Poulsbo: Focus on the Thrive program for 9th-grade and above students.

Remember, if you can’t attend the session geared toward your child, you are welcome to join us on the date that works best for your family. We will answer your questions after the main Q&A for the day. Specific locations will be provided by email after you have signed up.
