Dr. Lacy Kolo To All Instructors
Dr. Lacy Kolo attended the University of Virginia as a Jefferson Scholar where she completed her B.A. with an emphasis on Neurobiology. She then went on to receive her Ph.D. in Physiology and Pharmacology from St Louis University followed by her Juris Doctor (JD) Degree from George Mason University. She spent the early part of her career in law before pivoting to becoming an investment banker which she continues today.
Lacy has enjoyed teaching throughout her career. She taught undergraduate physiology and pharmacology classes at St Louis University, graduate law classes at American University, and middle school classes at The Langley School in McLean. From social studies and Bible courses to Pharmacology, her favorite aspect of teaching is in understanding the "how and why" to things. She enjoys exploring the pathways of both history and science.
Although successful in their career paths, both Lacy and her husband Brain had a clear calling to be active parts in the education of their three boys, which they have done for the past eight years. She seamlessly applies her wealth of knowledge to their home education through hands-on learning, discussions and activities that focus on their gifts and interests. In her spare time, Lacy spends her time getting beat at board games, attempting Boss Ross paintings, playing golf poorly, and, of course, building Lego sets.
Lacy is excited to join the HEARTS family and can't wait to get to know everyone!
