Volunteer Requirements

Volunteer Requirements

We require each family to volunteer in one of the available roles as it helps us keep costs down, plus it gives us all a chance to get to know each other, and build community.

This is truly a cooperative effort in that every family shares some level of responsibility to ensure the success of For the Kingdom Homeschool Co-op We are NOT a drop off co-op. A high level of parent participation is expected.

Parents are required to serve on campus two or more Fridays a month.** Volunteer hours are based on a Point System (4 points per Semester) which reflects the contribution of the various roles. These will be reviewed as part of registration with the Volunteer Coordinator. Each role is approximately equivalent to half a day every Friday, or a full day every other Friday.*

For families with extenuating circumstances, we do offer Buy Out options, as well as a few offsite positions and/or other service opportunities. We will, as much as possible, honor your preferences and schedule.

NOTE: You are not required to be on campus when you are not serving - unless you just want to be! (That's usually when the best mom chats happen in the Parent/Teacher Lounge! smiley)

    NOTES:

*Families with 4+ children are required to volunteer every Friday unless other arrangements are made.

**Only 1 adult per family needs to serve. A few of the roles may be performed by older, responsible high school students on behalf of their families.

    ***Buy Out Options
          Secondary ONLY -
For our families who have Secondary students only (7th-12th) we do offer a Buy Out option for $150/semester/family or $300/year/family.
Elementary ONLY - For our families with elementary students (PreK-6th) OR families with BOTH Elementary & Secondary Students, we also offer a Buy Out option at an additional $300/semester/family. We use a point system for volunteer hours (4 points per Semester - you can see the breakdown below), so there is also the option to do a partial buyout, with each "point" = $75.
