We once again return this year with more drawing and lessons in varied facets of art with our local artist, Cindy Conley! For those not already familiar, Cindy has won numerous awards for her drawings including first place at the 2-day Christian Concert & Art Festival known as “Purple Door” that used to be held at the Ski Roundtop Resort, where she was competing against other artists, in multiple mediums, from all over North America (the United States and also Canada). She has taught art classes for the Carlisle Parks & Recreation and also for the East Berlin Area Community Center, along with other various small-groups.
In this lesson, Cindy will guide your child in learning the basics of Perspective Drawing. This facet of drawing can be a very versatile skill that can be applied in so many ways from a young age and on throughout adulthood too. There are several career paths to which this basic lesson can ultimately provide a wonderful foundation to jump off from.
Note: Supplies may be purchased at such suppliers as Walmart, Amazon, any of the Dollar Stores, etc. The cost per student will vary depending on your choice of supplier and level of quality of tools (student vs professional) but should run $8-$12.
1) Pencils: #2 would work for our purposes. Multiple pencils would be a good idea. 2) Sharpener: Some method to sharpen pencils throughout class. A pencil sharpener &/or the sandpaper block. 3) Triangles: 45-degree, 30-degree, 60-degree 4) Ruler 5) Compass: Though parents, please do mind the sharp point! 6) Erasers: at least a regular red rubber one, better yet a kneaded eraser 7) Paper: almost any sort of paper would work for our lesson purpose. Masking tape: to use to help secure the paper to the drawing surface.
