About SHAPAC

In August 2023, South Houston Area Performing Arts Co-op (SHAPAC) will begin offering classes in the South Houston Area as a branch of our sister co-op, Bay Area Performing Arts Co-op (BAPAC) which was formed in 2012 and continues to meet in the Clear Lake area on Thursdays.

We meet at Southview Baptist Church, located at 23003 State Hwy 288, on Tuesdays teaching and training children in the arts. Classes start at 8:30AM and end at 2:50PM.

We offer instruction in choir, band, general music, recorder, music theory, beginning piano, guitar, strings, art, dance, and drama.

A non-refundable registration fee per family per year is due at time of registration and does not go towards the $550 family max. Classes range from $10 to $65 per child, per semester.

All adults attending co-op must have a background check cleared through the service we use for checks.

While we are a Christian organization, this is not a requirement for participation in this co-op.

Parents participate each period in which their children are enrolled. Students must be enrolled in a minimum of 4 classes. Music Theory is required for any student taking a musical performing class. Parents are not required to have musical abilities to join or participate in the co-op.
