Michael Strickland To All Instructors

Michael Strickland is a life-long resident of Portsmouth/Chesapeake. He graduated from Churchland High School and Virginia Military Institute with a B.A. in English. He is husband to Joyce (another life-long resident of Portsmouth/Chesapeake), step-father to April (Kevin) and Susan, grandfather to Ava and Andrew and pet parent to Snickers the Cat.

Michael is retired from a career in sales and sales management, and has been an active member of New Creation United Methodist Church in Western Branch for more than 30 years. He has served as Church Council Chairman, Lay Leader, and Sunday School Teacher. Michael has been involved in music all his life; he currently sings in the New Creation Choir, and plays rhythm acoustic guitar and keyboard on the New Creation Praise Team. He also teaches New Creation Kids Church attendees fun music for church.

Michael enjoys all types of music and believes music is a gift from God meant to bring fun, enjoyment and richness to life and worship.
