All learning at Buttercup Hill is Biblically based and encourages personal growth of faith in Jesus Christ. We desire to equip children with skills and tools to continually learn for a lifetime. We intend to provide Christian educational experiences and an opportunity to participate in group learning activities. We will support our members through prayer, commitment, and the sharing of educational information for the benefit of excellence in homeschooling. We commit to serve each other in humility, patience, and unity, extending grace to one another to the glory of Jesus Christ.

As a Charlotte Mason inspired co-op, Buttercup Hill maintains an emphasis in narration, nature study, and living books. We believe that cultivating the habits of diligence, attention, and reflection plays a crucial role in a child's development.

BCH was organized in January 2015 to supplement the homeschool experience with academic and enrichment classes and solid social interactions.

Our program is not intended to replace your homeschool curriculum. It is your responsibility to determine whether the content of a BCH class is adequate to meet your core curriculum criteria or whether it is a class that will be taken for enrichment. We offer high school classes, but we are not accredited to establish high school credit hours. The accounting of credits and tracking high school hours is the responsibility of the family.

In general, co-op meets on Tuesdays from August to May. The school year consists of 34 weeks in two semesters. The daily schedule consists of six 55 minute class periods with a 30 minute lunch.

The yearly calendar includes class and session dates, chapel dates, and a variety of other important dates. Through out the year, field trips, family fun activities, and other events are added to the calendar on a regular basis.  Payment due dates as well as all activities and other deadlines are posted in the BCH weekly newsletter and on the news and announcements section of the webpage.

Every participating family must affirm our faith statement.

We believe in salvation by faith alone, not works, through the crucifixion and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, who was born of the Virgin Mary and is a member of the triune God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We believe that the Bible is the only inspired and infallible Word of God. Every person is made in God’s image, holding value and purpose. We believe that all persons are assigned by God before birth only one of two unchangeable sexes (a.k.a. genders): male or female. Further, we believe that marriage is between one man and one woman in a single, exclusive union and that sexual intimacy is a gift from God to be enjoyed only between a man and a woman who are married to each other.

“True education awakens the soul to the beauty of the world and the joy of discovery.” -Charlotte Mason
