Class Descriptions
Watercolors
Starting with the color wheel, Miss Lilia will guide students to create specific watercolor paintings. Once they have mastered the techniques, students will have the opportunity to paint their own creation.
Teambuilding/Field Games
Provided by Refreshing Mountain, students will receive age specific instruction on how to work together to complete specific challenges or obstacles. This will include opportunities for children to encourage each other in competitive relays or outdoor games.
Games with Kevin
Kevin will start this class by diving into the history of specific board games and card games. He will focus on what concepts are needed to make a good game and how to make it competitive and engaging. In addition to playing games throughout this class, students will also get the opportunity to create their own game either individually or in a group.
CPR/First Aid/AED
Miss Debbie will give some good, practical knowledge on CPR, First Aid, and AEDs! Throughout the class, students will get hands-on practice on assessing a scene in an emergency, evaluating a patient, performing CPR on adults and infants, and using an AED if necessary. Any student 12 years and older will have the opportunity to become CPR certified at an additional fee.
Car Knowledge
Students will get the opportunity to learn about how to take care of a car! From fluids to windshield wipers to changing a tire, students will get hands-on experience so they are prepared for the road. This class is only offered to students ages 13 and up and can only have up to 10 students.
*Parents whose children are attending this class assume the risks of their child working with wrenches, screws, lifts, sparkplugs, and other “car mechanics.” By enrolling your child in this class, you release your child to participate in the activities mentioned (and others not listed). Students should wear or bring clothes and shoes that can get messy indefinitely*
Hike/Workout
Designed to get your child moving, students and teachers will follow a Christian workout curriculum every day OR go hiking. Much like ‘fine motor skills,’ we believe it’s important for your child to have good control of their body. The curriculum will discuss proper form for things like squats, planks, jumping jacks, and other common workout moves. In addition, students will get a chance to do a workout type dance along with the video instruction.

Knots, Pulleys, and Climbing
Join Refreshing Mountain staff on a journey to learn the science behind knots and pulleys! Practice creating the knots that are needed to do rock climbing and how to set up a safe pulley system. All of this leads up to the students doing some of their own rock climbing on site!

Theater Arts
Lights…Camera…Action!
Join our beloved Mrs. Healy in an adventure of learning to communicate through theater.
Mrs. Healy will not disappoint as she creates a learning environment that all students can participate in, even if they haven’t had any previous experience acting. Come ready to discover your next theater production and learn to work as a team to put on a show!
Please note that participation in Theater Arts is a commitment. Unnecessary absences disrupt the rehearsal process and negatively impact the quality of the performance. Therefore, students should plan to attend every class. Any planned absences should be communicated to the director/instructor prior to registration. Students who expect to miss more than two classes may be asked to forgo theater this semester and to choose a different elective.
