Background Checks

A current criminal background check is required for all aiding family members. This check is free for Washington residents. A $33, non-refundable fee will be assessed per Oregon background check. Background check forms are required annually.

ECHO reserves the right to refuse permission to applicants with criminal histories relating to the issues stated on the Criminal History Check Form, to aide in ECHO.

Name Tags

We will again be making photo name tags for all aides and new teachers. Photos of parents or teachers who did not aid in the past year will be taken on Parent/Teacher Information Night. Name tags are stored at ECHO (please don’t take them home) and laid out each week for the scheduled aides.

Only people with ECHO photo I.D. & background checks will be allowed to aide in classes.

Emergency Procedures

If the fire alarm is activated, the duty of the Teacher and Aide is to evacuate children from the building by way of the nearest exit and take them to the northeast parking lot. When leaving the classroom, take along the Aide notebook so we can quickly determine if all children are accounted for outside. Children are to remain with their teacher and aide until a parent picks them up if we are unable to re-enter the building.
