Mrs. Lisa Kuehn To All Instructors

Shortly after graduating college with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, Lisa paused and wondered if she should go back to school and to earn her teacher's license. Lisa chose not to return to college, but instead entered the workforce as a Chemistry lab technician. A few years passed, Lisa met her husband and had her first child! She quit her job to be a stay at home mom. Lisa has homeschooled her children since 2006. Lisa genuinely enjoys Chemistry, and she really enjoys teaching it to students and watching as they begin to understand. Lisa has taught this this class a number of times in the past, and she is looking forward to teaching it again!

Lisa's second passion is math. When Lisa entered college, she debated between a degree in Chemistry and a degree in math, but ultimately chose Chemistry. She was able to apply much of the math she had studied to her degree, and thus in a way, continued to study math! Lisa currently has a part time job tutoring students in math at a math center. She enjoys helping students understand math and explaining it to them in a way that they may have not thought about it. The majority of math is highly logical and much of it can be deduced from facts already learned. Making math fun and not arduous encourages students to want to learn, and it is fun to watch them grow and to see their confidence soar as they begin to understand.
