Member Meetings

We will be meeting at New Hope Assembly Student Campus located at 6800 Townsend Ave., Urbandale, IA 50322. Our meetings are for members only. Meetings are the first Monday of the month September thru May at 6:30 p.m. Exceptions: September we meet the 2nd Monday because of the Labor Day holiday.  Orientations are held at most meetings from 6:30 - 7:00 pm. Check the calendar to confirm.

For the meetings, we plan a variety of speakers and topics that serve to equip and encourage members to excellence in their home education. We also plan discussion groups like: Elementary, Jr. High, High School, unit studies, classical teaching, Charlotte Mason style teaching, traditional education, or unschooling techniques. There may be a focus of history, art, math or science in one or more of the groups. The agenda for each meeting is posted to the website prior to the meeting.

May: We have a Buy-Sell-Trade where families can sell and/or buy used books and curriculum. Only members may sell, but we invite non-member friends to come and shop.

Our meetings are open only to members. However, we invite you to attend an orientation and join HEED. Orientation starts at 6:30 pm for most meetings.  All HEED activities also require membership.
