PSEO at Path
PATH PSEO is returning for the 2025-2026 school year in partnership with Crown College!
This will be Rochester's ONLY in-person Christian College PSEO program, offering students the opportunity to take courses in humanities, arts, social sciences, and other electives—all taught from a Christian worldview. Crown College combines expert professors with supportive local facilitators who share your values, creating an encouraging and enriching learning environment.
Currently meeting at Emmanuel Baptist Church, courses meet Wednesdays during the school year. If you are interested in a video overview of how this program works, please email Pathrochester@gmail.com.
Recent Communication to all new and returning students below:
For Returning Students (and everyone else, please read this too):
From the very beginning, our goal has been to provide students the option to pursue a 2-year AA degree through Crown College, if they choose. When credits are meticulously packaged into a degree, they transfer almost seamlessly. While not many students may choose this path, it remains a valuable option.
The courses offered this coming Fall are designed to help all students move closer to their academic goals—whether it’s completing the AA degree or fulfilling personal aspirations. Every student will need to take courses in arts, humanities, social sciences, English literature, writing, and electives. The upcoming classes are strategically selected to help everyone progress in these areas.
For All Students and Families:
Please keep in mind that we are "the tip of the spear"...meaning we are helping, potentially, future students pursue in person learning from a Christian College. Being at the forefront sometimes means compromises are necessary to make the program successful. For example, you might prefer to take US History, but American Government is what’s offered. If both courses fulfill the same requirement, we encourage you to consider taking what is available to ensure the program remains viable for everyone.
Flexibility is key. By working together and thinking beyond just this Fall term, we can create opportunities that benefit all students. I’ll explain more about the long-term perspective later.
For New Students and Families:
About 14 people expressed interest in the Crown program and attended the meeting. From that group, 8 participants completed the survey indicating their desire to move forward with registration. Based on the survey results, the most requested classes have been identified and prioritized for this Fall.
Fall 2025 Anticipated Schedule:
IT 106 - Introduction to Computer Applications (Local Prof)
Intro to Philosophy
Music Appreciation
American Literature
Statistics (Local Prof)
Keep in mind that “Writing” classes are planned to be offered next year in the Spring, and beyond. Here’s the strategy based on the LAST YEAR's schedule:
Fall 2024:
· College Success Strategies
· Personal Finance
· General Psychology
· College Writing
Spring 2025:
· U.S. History
· Economics
· Literary Analysis
· Public Communication (Speech)
· Developmental Psychology
· College Math (Math 130)
The courses listed above for Fall and Spring 2024-25 are likely to also be offered in Fall and Spring 2026-27. This means you’ll have plenty of opportunities to earn writing and other credits. The idea is to ensure all students—whether new juniors or returning seniors—can access the same courses, well-enrolled class.
A minimum of 8-10 students per class is essential to make this sustainable, as Course Assistants (local facilitators) don’t earn much, and healthy enrollment is key for good discussions to take place "live and in person".
For Returning Students:
The schedule outlined above applies to you as well.
We’ll firm up the Spring 2026 schedule by late summer. So far, we’re certain about offering Social Entrepreneurship, College Algebra, and English Writing. Additional courses will be confirmed later, and we’ll keep you informed.
Now it’s your turn to participate! Please take a moment to fill out the survey and let us know if you’re interested in continuing with Crown next year. Whether you’re a returning student or new, your feedback is crucial in helping us finalize plans.
Thank you, and we look forward to hearing from you!
