Tri-County Christian Home Educators Statement of Faith
WE BELIEVE:
-
The Bible is the inspired and infallible Word of God and constitutes completed and final revelation. Nothing has been added to it and it is the only source of divine truth. The Bible, in its original autograph, is without error in whole and in part, including theological concepts as well as geographical and historical detail. (2 Tim. 3:16; Rev 22:18-19)
-
God has existed from all eternity in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ was God come in human flesh, being fully God and fully man, except without sin. (John 1:1-18)
-
The central purpose of the coming of Jesus Christ was to pay the penalty for man’s sin through his substitutionary death on the cross – the successful accomplishment of which was attested to by His subsequent visible bodily resurrection. (Romans 3:10, 23; Romans 6:23)
-
Salvation is offered as a gift; free to the sinner. This gift must be responded to in individual faith, not trusting in any personal works, but the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ alone. (Ephesians 2:8-9)
-
God forbids pagan practices such as witchcraft, fortune telling, casting spells, consulting with familiar spirits, interpreting omens, and contacting the dead. (Deuteronomy 8:10-12)
- We believe God’s plan for human sexuality is to be expressed only within the context of monogamous marriage between a biological male and a biological female as the foundation of the family and the basic structure of human society. We believe that God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity be engaged in outside of a legal marital union between a man and a woman. We believe that any form of sexual immorality (including adultery, fornication, homosexual behavior, bisexual conduct, bestiality, incest, or use of pornography) is sinful and offensive to God. Genesis 1:26-27 and 2:24; Matt. 15:18-20; Matthew 19:5-6; Mark 10:6-9; Romans 1:26-27; 1 Corinthians 6:9.
- We believe that God wonderfully and immutably creates each person as male or female and these two distinct, complementary genders together reflect the image and nature of God. Rejection of one's biological sex is a rejection of the image of God within that person. We will use male pronouns to refer to those persons who were created biologically male, and the female pronouns to refer to those persons who were created biologically female. Persons will only be referred to by their biological gender; human male or human female. (Genesis 1:27) (Revised July 2023)
