ECCHO Dances

ECCHO leadership values providing traditional social events for our students to enjoy.  As an organization with over 200 member families, we strive to provide an environment in which all of our families trust ECCHO to maintain Biblical standards where each student can feel safe and comfortable while enjoying time with friends.  As such, we take seriously the guidelines below regarding music, dress code, and dancing for the following events:

Fall Social is a Junior High social gathering including dinner and dancing.  This event is intended to provide students a classier social gathering than normal, including a dressy/semi-formal dress code.  Students are encouraged to dress nicely and ECCHO dress code applies.  If wearing jeans they must not have holes; no t-shirts, shorts, or anything "raggedy."  Group dancing is encouraged and dancing must at all times be modest and appropriate for our Christ-centered group.  All music should be consistent with Biblical values and must not contain lyrics, themes, or innuendo that are violent, lewd, profane, or otherwise offensive.  Edited versions of offensive songs may not be acceptable if the underlying message is still present in the song.  Music should encourage appropriate interaction among students.  All dance styles must comply with ECCHO standards of modesty and safety.  Dancing that is unsafe, overly amorous or suggestive is prohibited.  If dancing with a partner, arms distance must be maintained with open space between you.  Please be respectful of your friends and of ECCHO's guidelines.  Reminder: ECCHO is trying to create a safe, fun enironment for socializing; our goal is NOT to provide a place for students to pursue romantic relationships.  If any chaperone feels your dancing is not modest, you will be reminded to move apart.  Chaperones in attendance will be the final judges of the appropriateness of dance styles.  Students must comply with the instructions of chaperones.  Failure to do so will result in students being asked to leave and may result in additional disciplinary action.  ECCHO's code of conduct applies at all ECCHO events.
