ECCHO Eagles Archery
ECCHO Eagles Archery
The ECCHO Eagles Archery Program is an outreach ministry to the families of ECCHO. It aims to provide a developmental, fun, competitive, and safe environment for students ages 11 - 18. Our goal is to instill in homeschooled students the ideals of good sportsmanship, honesty, loyalty, courage, and respect for authority through the sport of archery.
ECCHO Eagles athletes are seen as program leaders and held to a higher standard.
Evaluations:
Since this is our first year, we are not holding a formal evaluation.
Commitment:
Eagles Archery is an academic year-long program. The team member's term begins September 1st and ends at the end of May of the following year. As part of their place on the team, team members commit to participating in practices, competitions, archery events, various activities, fundraisers, parades, etc. (Special circumstances are considered on a case-by-case basis—please talk to the athletic director.)
Practices:
Practice schedule: Tuesdays from 6-7:30 pm @ Longbranch Community Baptist Church
Competition:
Our goal is to be a competitive team that works hard on and off the range and shines His light for the world to see. Each program member will have the opportunity to qualify to be a part of the team that goes to the competition. The plan for this year is to enter at least four competitions in the fall and four competitions in the spring.
Calendar:
The Eagles archery program events and activities will be posted on the team and ECCHO calendars (www.eccho.us). Parents and program participants are responsible for keeping up with the calendar.
Groupme:
Eagles Archery has a GroupMe dedicated to the program's student-athletes and at least one parent per student-athlete. You must have the app and keep up with notifications.
Attendance and Absences:
Parents and team members are expected to promptly communicate any issues or problems to the athletic director and be at all scheduled archery practices and events. Understandably, things arise, and sometimes student-athletes are unavailable; please communicate with the athletic director as soon as possible. Please schedule vacations, family events, and other commitments during the off-season. Participants must be on time, dressed appropriately, and ready to participate.
Uniform:
Eagles Archery Shirt, Sweatshirt, and Hat
Fundraising:
Archery is an expensive sport, and ECCHO recognizes the need for fundraising to help cover some of the program's costs. Student-athletes and families are expected to participate in all fundraising opportunities.
