DESCRIPTION DESCRIPTION DESCRIPTION

Place the room’s Cleanup Guide in its Cleanup Kit.

Return the Cleanup Kit to the PHS closet.

It is easiest to ask a student to do this so that you may move on to checking the next room.

Restock Cleanup Kits as needed.

Each kit should contain:

  • paper towels
  • unscented all-purpose cleaner
  • whiteboard cleaner
  • hand sanitizer
  • Setup and Cleanup checklists

Confirm that all windows are both closed and latched and that blinds are lowered.

Turn off the room’s light.

This signals to the Closing Keyholder that an Onsite Volunteer has verified the room’s cleanup is completed.

Close the room’s door to the hallway.

This lets the Closing Keyholder know the room is ready to be locked.

  • Do not close the doors between the three interconnected east classrooms.

  • The doors to the Fellowship Hall do not lock but must be closed as that room has an independent heating and cooling system.

Door closed to Room 116 open door between rooms 114 and room 115

Bring the name badge trays from the south entryway to the PHS closet.

Confirm that everyone has returned their name badges first.

Planet Homeschool Floor PlanConfirm that everyone has left the building

Double-check:

  • the Fellowship Hall
  • the Fellowship Hall lobby
  • all four restrooms
  • the lounge
  • the classrooms

Students do tuck themselves into nooks and crannies under the mistaken impression that they can comfortably wait there for a late-arriving ride.

Check in with the Closing Keyholder

The Closing Keyholder arrives by 3:15 PM to lock all of the doors.

Return the door keys to the Closing Keyholder.

Remain at PHS until every student has safely left.

No students may be at PHS (inside or outside) without an adult co-op member present, even if they are:

  • mature
  • responsible
  • independent
  • an older teen (or even a newly minted adult)
  • have the permission of their parents, guardians, or caregivers

Assist students who need help connecting with their ride home.

Northbound Metro Transit Route 25 picks up students at the corner at approximately 3:17 PM.

Southbound Metro Transit Route 25 arrives at approximately 3:41 PM, but students may wait for the bus unaccompanied, weather permitting.

Complete your online Onsite Volunteer Shift Log.

Onsite Volunteer Shift Log

You do not need to wait until the end of your shift to complete the form but may report concerns as they arise.

Use this form to report:

  • Low supplies
  • Outdated information (signage, room layouts, checklists, binder information, etc.).
  • PHS equipment in need of repair or maintenance.
  • Any damage caused to church property.
  • Any injuries or illnesses.
  • Any behavior concerns.
  • Any calls you placed to families.
  • Any late pickups.

If you end up having to stay later than 3:30 PM for any reason, please report that via the online Onsite Volunteer Shift Log or email the PHS Leadership Team at PlanetHomeschoolMN@gmail.com about the situation that caused the delay.

Please do not post directly to any of our co-op’s forums about student pickup delays.

  • If there is a fifth-period class in the Fellowship Hall, then students may wait in the Fellowship Hall for their ride home.

Let your fellow Onsite Volunteer and the Closing Keyholder know when you leave.

The Closing Keyholder is not responsible for remaining at PHS until every student has safely left, so may leave before you do. Locked doors may be opened from the inside, so you may wait inside the building with the student(s) but be aware that the door will lock behind you when you leave.
